A strong sense of community and a culture of giving have been part of who we are for 40 years. We are passionate about making a positive contribution to society and we benefit in kind from team building opportunities, personal satisfaction and cultivating a positive company culture. Some of our sponsorships, charity days and donations are included in the gallery below.
Dry July Coin War
At the end of the month we held a Christmas in July feast, celebrating the end of Dry July and the winners of a Coin War. As part of the shenanigans the staff raised two thousand dollars towards a charity now close to our heart, the Cancer Council. A wonderful team effort, thanks to all!!!
Dorrigo Steam Railway and Museum
Dorrigo Steam Railway and Museum is home to the largest collection of preserved railway vehicles and memorabilia from the various Government and private railways of New South Wales. It is one of the most comprehensive railway collections in the world, with exhibits ranging from 1855 to the present day. To date, the museum collection comprises 67 locomotives, 280 carriages and wagons, and over 19 railmotors. The locomotives range from 8 tonne shunting units to the massive, 260 ton Beyer-Garratt (the largest locomotive in the southern hemisphere), many over 100 years old.
The museum is not yet open to the public, aiming to achieve this goal with continuing support from likeminded rail enthusiast like us! CFMG contributes this project on a monthly basis, its Directors having been actively involved since 1985.

Christmas 2016 Community Support
Huge thanks to the whole team for being so active in our Christmas 2016 Community Support initiatives. You guys are awesome!!! This year we:
A. Worked with Ravenswood and Gordon Uniting Church to create local Lifeline Christmas Hampers.
B. Became a corporate sponsor of Lifeline Crisis Line (‘Lifeline Harbour to Hawksbury’). This helpline is a great assistance to many of our customers, especially those encountering Hardship, so we are very passionate about supporting this great community service, donating $2000 at Christmas with the view to exploring further possibilities of support in 2017.
C. Arranged paid time off for 7 staff members to volunteer at Sydney’s Special Children’s Christmas Party which is a fun-filled Christmas Event for seriously ill, intellectually/physically impaired and underprivileged children. Everyone that attended said it was a really rewarding and enjoyable day, so we will definitely put our hand up to participate again next year!!!

Dancing CEOs is an annual fundraising event that supports Women’s Legal Service, during which Brisbane’s leading CEO’s take to the dance floor to raise money and awareness for the prevention of domestic violence. This year CFMG was Event Sponsor, with our own Jude Ellyett announcing the major raffle prize winner onstage.
A huge $216,000 was raised at the event this year (April 2016) which will help fund a new helpline, allowing the service to answer 700% more calls annually - and ultimately to assist more women and children with nowhere else to go.
